Adult (Sanctuary) Choir

The Sanctuary Choir is under the direction of Rev. Keith A. Reaves, Minster of Worship/Music at First Baptist since 1999. The 75-member choir sings for worship each week and presents seasonal and special programs throughout the year, including "Christmas at First Baptist" and an annual Maundy Thursday service. The choir sings traditional anthems, ranging from J. S. Bach to Joseph Martin.

The choir is accompanied by Joan Hill, organ, and Beverly Harris, piano.

Our Reuter pipe organ was originally installed in 1958 with a complete renovation in 2000. The organ has about 50 ranks and nearly 3000 pipes.

In 2006 the choir accepted an invitation to participate in the International Church Music Festival in Chester, England and in 2008 the choir accepted an invitation as the only church choir to sing for the New Baptist Covenant Meeting in Atlanta.

Membership in the choir is open to anyone college-age and older. For more information, contact Keith at
kreaves@fbcrome.org.

The choir rehearses Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m.
