Adult Ministry

First Baptist Church is fortunate to include adults of all ages. A balance of younger and older adults continuously energizes and enriches the congregation with creativity and energy. Opportunities for Bible study, enrichment, and fellowship invite individuals and groups to seek the heart of Christ. For information on adult ministries contact Tamara Tillman. For information on Senior Adult activities contact Keith Reeves.

Adult Wednesday Night Seminars
Adult Wednesday Night Seminars will begin Wednesday, September 1, at 6:15 p.m.  The following classes will be offered:

Science and Faith:  Creative Tension, led by Dr. Kathy Whatley, meets in the dining room.  Are science and faith in conflict?  Is it possible to be a scientist and a person of faith?  What are the major questions a scientist should ask about faith--and that people of faith should ask about science?  Come prepared to discuss ideas in small groups.

Bible Study - The Gospels, led by Dr. Joel Snider, meets in the chapel.  Have you ever noticed the similarities between the four gospels?  Have you noticed the differences?  This seminar will give an introductory look at the way the four gospels give us a comprehensive view of Jesus' earthly life and ministry.

This I Believe: Writing Our Faith Stories, led by Dr. Randy Richardson, Merrill Davies, and Martha Heneisen, meets in the conference room.  Modeled after NPR's "This I Believe" and the 1950's Edward R. Murrow radio series of the same name, "Now That I Believe..." will provide practical guidance and instruction in the creation and delivery of personal narrative essays designed to illustrate principles of faith in action.

Men's Ministry Steak Dinner
The Men's Ministry will sponsor a steak dinner with all the trimmings on Thursday, September 23, at 6:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the church.  This is for all age groups.  The cost of the dinner will be $10.00 per person.  There will also be a "surprise" guest speaker.  Click here to make your reservation or call John in the church office at 706.291.6850.
