Preschoolers Ministries
SUNDAYS
Sunday School (9:45-10:45 am)
We have an age-graded Preschool Sunday School Program for ages birth through Kindergarten. Our teachers and our rooms are always prepared and we welcome all children.

Active Angels (5:00 - 6:30 pm)
On Sunday evenings during the school year from 5:00 to 6:30 pm our Kindergarteners, Pre-First, and 1st grade meet to learn how to use the Bible finding chapters and verses, memorize scripture verses and hear about Biblical characters and places. They enjoy a snack supper with the older children.
Bible Verses for Each Age
Bible Verses are chosen for each age/grade to memorize from the "Blueprint for Foundational Building Blocks for Faith Development.". They are posted in the Sunday School rooms and emphasized by the teachers. Each child is also encouraged to memorize and use their Life Verse.
WEEKDAYS
These two activities are taught together from 5:45 - 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Education Building on Wednesday evenings during the school year.
Graded Choir
The Preschool Choir "Joyful Singers" includes 3, 4, and 5 year olds. This group learns to enjoy and play rhythm instruments, to match pitch, count and clap notes and sing simple songs. This choir sings for Prayer Meeting on Wednesday night several times during the year.
FBC.com (Children on Mission)
Boys and girls learn about mission work around the community, the state, the U.S.A., and the world. As we learn, we also pray and give to make missions come alive for the children. Snacks, games and songs from around the world bring excitement to this time of study.
KID'S TALK
A monthly newsletter for Kids. It contains games, activities, news, event calendar, notes for parents.
Special Events
Parent Child Dedications: Each family with a young child is given the opportunity to dedicate themselves and their child to the Lord. These very special services are held during the morning worship service and are planned with the family. The church makes promises and the parents respond with promises of their own. A Life Verses is given to the child which will be used many times during their growing years at the church.
Preschool Pajama Party: Once a year our preschoolers wear their pajamas and bring their parents for a fun evening of play. We start with dinner and end with a bedtime story with milk and cookies.
Vacation Bible School: A three day Bible School is usually held in June. Preschoolers ages 4 and above, are encouraged to come and enjoy fun, fellowship, games, crafts and Bible study.
Pool Parties: Summer months bring two pool parties which the whole family is encouraged to attend. We swim, have supper and fellowship.
Summer Fun Days: Summer outings are planned during summer months just for fun and fellowship.
How Can I Help?
Welcome Center: Take a turn welcoming families with young children to the PreSchool area, giving directions and answering any questions they may have.
Volunteer to be a Teacher or Substitute Teacher: Teachers and substitute teachers are always needed in the Preschool programs of the church.
Children's Worship Assistants: Every Sunday when the children leave the sanctuary to go to Children's Worship, we need one or two helpers to go with us. We staff this position with parents serving once a quarter.
T.L.C. Workers: Every Sunday we need a staff of at least 10 T.L.C. (Tender Loving Care) workers who stay in the nursery and care for our youngest children during worship. We rely on parents, grandparents and other friends to staff this need.
If you would be willing to fill any of these positions or want to ask for additional information, please e-mail our Minister of Faith Development. Her name is Miss Prissy and her e-mail is ptunnell@fbcrome.org.
Parental Resources
A traveling Resource Cart of suggested books will soon be available which can be checked out for reading and studying. Parenting classes are planned at various times during the year.
Security Polices
We invite teachers to join our team who have indicated a love and patience for preschoolers and who have demonstrated those attributes. For the coming year we are requesting background checks on all preschool workers.
A high tech security system is in place for all our buildings especially in the Preschool area. Cameras are active at all times. We practice health and safety readiness by having disaster and fire drills.
A pager system is used. As you leave your young child in the preschool area, you are given a pager so that we can contact you anywhere in the building.
