First Baptist has a large group of senior adults who participate in all ministries of the church.
The Senior Adult Committee sponsors monthly outings and events that feature interesting programs and warm fellowship.
Day trips and short overnight trips are planned throughout the year and at least once a year the Committee plans an extended trip. Past destinations have included the Canadian Rockies, New England Fall Foliage, Yellowstone/Badlands, Niagara Falls, Canyonlands, Alaska, Nova Scotia, and, this past summer a 16-day European river cruise. Trips closer to home have included Savannah/Charleston, Branson, Nashville, and Gulf Shores. In May we went to Holland, Michigan's Tulip Festival with lots of fun points from here to there.

A trip to Chattanooga, TN to see stand-up comedian/musician Chonda Pierce at the Memorial Theatre.
Cost: $40 (includes transportation and show ticket)
Departing FBC parking lot at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, February 19. Dinner is planned on the way. Guest are welcome to sign-up through Karen Garrett in the church office.
February 22-23
The Senior Adult Ministry will sponsor the AARP Driver Education course in the dining room from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. each day. Cost for AARP members is $12 and non-members is $14. Guests are welcomed. Participants must pre-register by Thursday, February 18. Save on your automobile insurance!
March 11 & 12
Senior Adult Spring Fling: "Headed South"
We will enjoy a trip to South Georgia. Included will be a tour of Fort Benning (including lunch with the troops!), a production of "Swamp Gravy," Georgia's official folk musical in Colquitt, dinner at the historic Tarrer Inn, a visit to Westville, a living history museum in Lumpkin and seeing Providence Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the East. Total cost for the trip is $165 per person, which includes all attractions, lodging, transportation and all but one meal. RUSSIA 2010
The Senior Adult Ministry will enjoy a river cruise in Russia June 24-July 9, 2010. This trip is full. Please contact Keith Reaves if you would like to be placed on a waiting list. An itinerary with details is available here.
