 | MISSIONS - GLOBAL MISSIONS
We seek to bring Jesus Christ to people through partnerships with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Virginia Baptist Missions Board. In addition, the church sponsors a number of children through World Vision. An important priority of our missions vision is ministering to children and to the hungry.
Haiti Disaster Response
This is the latest word for our partners at the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship:
- The situation on the ground in Haiti changes by the day and by the hour. Please keep in touch for updates. For now - we have heard from all of our partners, including Canadian Baptists, who are offering CBF everything from satellite phones to mobile medical clinics.
- The Virginia Baptist Mission Board, one of our closest partners, has agreed to help manage our volunteer responders who might go into Haiti once it is safe to do so.
- Texas Baptist Men and National Baptists, other fine partners, are arranging for water purification systems.
- Southeast Region Volunteers of America, has pledged to send all of their supplies and equipment through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. This includes a medical clinic, so start getting your medical teams ready.
- David Harding, CBF International Disaster Response Coordinator will be in charge of the overall operation for CBF.
- CBF National is poised to respond as the picture clears. At this time, understandably, all efforts are focused locally on search and rescue.
In the meantime, please continue to pray for the Lord's guidance as we commit to being the presence of Christ to the most needy, neglected and forgotten.
